Salesman opened account with credit company without my knowledge
May 12, 2008
Ashley Furniture complaint
I applied for credit for two living room couches. I didn't know at the time that the salesman was giving my personal information to two different credit services.

Two months later the second credit company (unknown to me) sent me a letter increasing my APR to 29.99%. They had my SS#, address, phone numbers, etc. I just spent two hours on the phone with them trying to straighten this out.

Be careful when applying for credit with Ashley Furniture. Salesman was overanxious, might have hurt my credit They said "sorry", but I'm left to clean up their mess.
