Reclining loveseat covered in DuraBlend from Ashley Furniture Home Store

We bought a reclining loveseat from ASHLEY FURNITURE HOME STORE in West Los Angeles at the end of 2011. The loveseat is upholstered in DuraBlend, a blended leather. This blended leather is advertised as easy to clean and DURABLE. We also bought a 5 year furniture protection plan. Three years after purchasing the loveseat, at the end of 2014, I noticed that on my side of the couch the material where I lean back with my head was breaking apart. I went to the Ashley store in Hawthorne to find out what to do. The manager told me that some people have come in with the same problem with breaking apart upholstery material even before a year is up. It is caused by shampoo and body oils. My protection plan excludes perspiration, hair and body oils. This is written in small print on the bottom of the page. Now, in April 3 years and about 3 months later after the purchase, the material is breaking apart where my husband sits. He wears pants when sitting on this loveseat. How body oil got on his seat is a mystery. We are seniors and did not abuse this furniture. I believe Ashley knows that DuraBlend is an inferior material and not able to withstand normal use. MY ADVICE: DO NOT BUY ANY FURNITURE COVERED IN DURABLEND. IT BREAKS APART AND IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Margarete O'Brien

Ashley Furniture - Mattress Review from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

We bought a $6,000 mattress and the salesman told us it was a win win situation. That if we weren't happy with it, all we would have to do is return it within 90 days. We bought it in December and have been trying to return it since January. We have been jerked around from manager to manager and nothing has been done. Now it's April and still being jerked around from department to department, person to person.

My husband and I bought this furniture. We have no kids living at home so we thought we would get a nice set. Well a year and a half later and it is ripping apart. No one in customer service would help me in the beginning. I sent photos, numerous phone calls and was told that it is a lengthy process and they need more photos and info bcause they prob. Wont help me based on what I sent. I mean really???? until I went to social media they didn't hear me. Angry, hurt, upset they finally said they would replace the ripping in 3 sections cushions. Well there is a defect and I can prove it. They sent one of the 3 cushions in a bag to my home. When I unbagged it...they have 2 small holes punched in the leather..what happens is when those are reclined it keeps tearing. Same spots 3 locations. The color doesn't even match. I'm so stressed out. Its past 3 am and i'm still crying. :( I have never in my life witnessed customer service so awful. Ill tell you one thing. I will never ever buy new again. This is an expensive heartbreak. I don't want to get hateful or ugly but they are too busy blaming the consumer when it is faulty product. The top right photo is the hole punch. By the time you recline tht continues to rip. I guess I will let the state handle it because this is really just making me sick. We work hard to pay for things like this. I will never ever shop at an Ashley's furniture again.

Don't buy leather products from Ashley furniture.

I have the same peeling issue with my couches from Ashley. We bought the insurance that they offer and it covers just about everything BUT the peeling because it is a manufacturer defect. I'd be better off "accidentally" setting the couches on fire. So the insurance company refused to repair our couches and Ashley refused to do anything to help us get the couches replaced. The salesman represented the couches as "leather" and not some type of synthetic material and my wife didn't know the difference when she bought them. Will not do anymore business with Ashley after they refused to do anything to make this right. Didn't expect a refund but I was hoping that they would offer a discount on replacements as we are planning on buying additional furniture for our house. I thought maybe they would make an effort to retain our business but they flat out refused to do anything.

Peeling leather

Leather pealed at head rest on chair. We have five year warranty. Called. Sent pix of damage as requested. No response. Called. Told I would get call-back. Nothing. Emailed Corporation web site. No response. Emailed different corporate address. No response and then... Response! And several phone contacts later... This morning a very pleasant and competent "Furniture Doctor" (Simon) made us whole again. Persist and I think you'll find Ashley ultimately accountable. But of course you should not have to expend this much effort to have your grievances allayed. Yet I think if you stay the course, whine on, Ashley might just get the message and become what they say they are. Jack Taylor Jacktayl@***.com

Same here! Worst customer service and quality ever.

My furniture is falling apart. I am so stressed out. I contacted the BBB and the consumer protection bureau. Good luck.

They aren't out for the consumer. The took the money and ran. They sent me a brand new couch cushion. One of 3 well I open it and there is holes where the rest of mine are ripping.

So it is a defect.

I'm gonna prove it. Buyers better read reviews.

4 Hours Notice That I Won't Have A Bed Tonight

Now that I'm on here I see this is a recurring issue for Ashley. On 3/29 I ordered an "Ashley" mattress and motorized base for $3,000. They set the delivery date to 4/10 and on 4/8 confirmed that delivery would be 4/10 between 12:30 and 4:30. On 4/10 they call me to inform me that I need to confirm my delivery date for 4/14. Now I gave my bed away this morning expecting the new one, I took today off of work and can't take any more the rest of the month but here's the kicker. When I called the store they told me they'd see if another customer ordered the same bed and they'd see if they could grab one. So basically, there's a very good chance that another "angry" customer yelled loud yesterday and got my mattress. To make matters worse, they won't try and replace the order with another mattress that is in stock even if I had to pay more and they're offering me $100 gift certificates or waiving the delivery fee. That's simply insulting. Kudos to Ashley for perfecting the "Just In Time" inventory control system, *** for us the consumers because one burp in their system and you become less important to them than a couple of days of interest they would have paid to have a couple mattresses on hand. I've always bought locally through small stores and this time I am regretting not doing that big time. At least a small local store would give more than 4 hours notice that your goods aren't being delivered and would bend over backwards to make it right. The last time something like this happened locally they cut $500 off the order and gave me a free 10 year warranty and repair plan. Buy local, Ashley is obviously too big to care.

Salesmen quoted a price on a mattress set also informed us he would throw in bed frame, free delivery, mattress cover & a set of gel pillows. We informed salesman we were comparison shopping & possibly we would be back. Well we came back & this time he denied what he "threw in". He called us liars told us to leave the store. Another salesman chimed in & stated that he was aware of the offer minus the pillows because the initial salesman informed him. The Sales manager did nothing just stood their allowing HIS salesman to yell at us in front of other customers. The initial salesman put on his jacket & hollered "I'm out of here", & walked out. We contacted Ashley Furniture customer service requesting to speak to the regional manager but never received a call except for a call from the sales manager. We asked him how he got our number & he said the store received an email from customer service & he was told to call us. I can't believe the store manager didn't call or the District manager didn't call considering what just happened in their store so they passed the buck & told someone else to call. Very disappointed with this store.

My dad got items from ashley and it was not wrap in plastic i ask why they said it was but they unwrap it for inspection i thought thus was crazy

Ashley furniture promised me a date of delivery on april 8th ....i confirmed the delivery on monday.....only to sit and wait ....it never showed and when i called t he date has been changed to may 8th without me being notiffied...and they dont want to do anyyhing to correct this...this is unacceptable

I brought a leather section from Hh Greg costing me 2300. Dollars should have made them take it back when n the middle seat cushion began to sink n I had only had it 2 weeks they replace the sofa. Low and behold 7 mos later we have the same problem .call the company still had warranty they sent some o e out I ask him why was the sofa sinking and the rest of the section is like new. He said because we sit on this more then the other. I told him bull this furniture is cheaply made before this I had some leather furniture that I had for 12 years and The cushion was still fluffy gave it to my daughter when I bought this!! We have no little children and not a lot of company. I'm mad as *** will never buy from hh gregg again or Ashley ! Buyers beware!!

Horrible company bought a bed set and took a month to get here and when they came one mover was drunk and had black filth all over him but they forgot my chair so it was on back order then 3 months later they were suppose to deliver it then lost it and forgot where to deliever it!! THEY ARE A JOKE!!!
