I've bought a leather sofa at Ashley Furniture Chattanooga for more than $2000 about six months ago. The lady was very nice and offered a very comprehensive protection plan, or at least it sounded like one, full coverage.

Being such a pricey item, I went for it and paid $269.99 for the so called protection plan. This Thanksgiving we had family and friends over and after a couple of days we noticed a light spot on the leather cushion. Somebody may have spilled something on it, but we didn't worry since we had the PLAN! Big mistake.

The "plan" does NOT cover anything, including this incident. It is the biggest SCAM! They promise the stars when you buy it, then they treat you like dirt. I got an email from them saying my claim rejected.

I replied and said I want my money back. The email comes back as "undeliverable" no matter which address I try, just the sender or the official customer service email on their web site. I suspect they even blocked my email address just not to be bothered. I will never buy anything from them and I DO NOT recommend Ashley Furniture and any kind of "warranty" or "protection plan" from either Ashley Furniture or Montage Furniture Services.

They have shady business practices and just want your money, and never hear from you again.

They remind me of the guy "Becky" from a credit card commercial. That's exactly what you get with Ashley Furniture and Montage Furniture Services.

Monetary Loss: $269.

the same thing happened to me. I was told my 3k furniture would be refluffed and cleaned if i purchased this product. filed a claim and was told they don't cover this.

I purchased a five year plan.

After having the furniture for three years, my two year old vomited on the couch, which I was told when I purchased the plan that it covered all accidents human or animal. I was sent an email with documents attached to print out fill out and send back. They (reps)also wanted pictures. I sent everything they requested on five separate occasions, they kept claiming they were only receiving one page.

I know they were full of sh@&$ because I CC myself and received everything in the email. So after getting the run around and calling every few days, they finally admitted to receiving the documents, but claimed there was no noticeable stain.

I guess because my couch is brown and doesn't actually show the vomit stain it doesn't qualify for coverage!

I will be purchasing another couch, but it sure as *** won't be from Ashley!

Agree. Exactly same situation happened and told the customer rep that its a scam!

They rejected the claim saying accumulated damage even-though reported the cuts and color change when noticed! Going to cancel the protection plan purchased on another set of new furniture.

I AGREE 100%…I never used my policy, I was told I would get $ back, now it is a credit....Ok, but now I have to purchase $500+ to use it. These companies are not customer focused, they are greedy.

My claim was declined because it was reported after 5 days of noticing the damage. We went on vacation, and had no idea.

What kind of BS is that? Customer rep refused to budge, and said the supervisor would have to call me back - yeah good luck !

Well I bought the 5 year protection plan and after 9 months my electronic recliner would no longer recline. I tried to make a claim got an email back saying they are unable to fix it.

I also tried to reply back to them and now my email bounces back. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!

They are a complete scam, back in November I filed two reports regarding the peeling of veneer from my dresser. They ended up filling the report as damage to the frame when I specifically sent them images of the veneer.

I had no idea what happened to the furniture except the fact that one day I noticed the veneer completely peeling off! I told them that I was unaware of what had happened and they told me that only consumer damage covers it when nowhere in the protection plan did it state anything about consumer specific damage!

I was appalled that they refused to help and then I asked to file a new claim regarding another piece of furniture and the customer representative denied me! How crazy!

I declined the plan at first the guy asked do you have any kids well yes I have a new born. AF Rep "well this is the perfect plan.

Its for 5yrs. When your daughter grows up in those trouble 2's and damage your furniture its all covere. If you don't use it you'll get a store credit.

Um ding ding ding. Decline your claims + get store credit = will always have to do business with them BC u can't use that money anywhere else.

We purchased a sofa, table, and chair from Ashley' s and also bought the warranty. My sofa was ripped and my stools that came with table are broken.

Our claims were denied. As one person said it is a rip off and scam. They literally take your money. I am going to report them to the BBB.

I am also going to check into legal help maybe even a class action lawsuit. Because people just say forget about it, they are getting rich without honoring their warranties.

This has got to stop. People work too hard for their things to be taken advantage of.

Totally agree! Don't buy their furniture period.

After six months had a scratch on bedroom furniture, called and asked if it could be repaired, has to be within 30 days or not fixed.

Just called today to check on refund since we haven't used warranty and was informed we would receive a gift card to spend in their store! They have nothing I want!!!

It's Montage that is the problem. We have a sectional that they are denying the claim on.

The headrest has a cut but since it isn't cut through to the stuffing only through the top layer it isn't covered. Nothing in the warranty documents say cuts have to be all the way through.

We don't usually buy extended warranties of any kind but did with the furniture because it was such a big purchase.

Montage Furniture Services is a TERRIBLE company. They will not repair my furniture becuase it is not a part of my contract WHICH IT IS!

They are absolutely awful!

Don't buy any protection plan from Ashley Furniture this kind of protections are scam by Montage Furniture Services I just received an e-mail about my claim and they said that is not covered when the contract said the opposite. This company makes me feel sick.

Same thing happened to me. I bought the warranty and went to clean the furniture and found chips and paint off the coffee table.

They asked me how this happened but I had no idea. They said they couldn't fix it since I didn't know when it happened or how it happened. The warranty doesn't say I have to inspect my furniture everyday to make sure no damage has been done to the furniture. They refused to cover the damage since I had no idea what had happened.

So I understand now that dents, gouges or chips that penetrate the finish exposing the substrate are not covered if I don't know when or how it happened. This warranty is a scam and should be looked into by legal authorities.

Thought about reporting them to BBB.
