Ashley Furniture - Bad manager "Chad" in Joplin,Mo, purchase on line not in his store
We were going to finance a Dining Room Table and 8 chairs we were was told it was on back order would take about 3-4 weeks to come in. Which I was fine with as I was in no hurry at that time.
My issue began 48 hours later when I went on line and noticed the table we just signed to get for $679.00 in the Joplin, MO store. Is only $499.00 on line. So when I went in to the store and politely asked the manager why it is cheaper to buy online even after adding it to cart after shipping and tax is still $100.00 cheaper. He never could give me any type of explanation.
I said $100.00 is $100.00. He tells me I know that's what I pay for a good bottle of scotch. And I don't like anyone questioning his integrity. So I then politely asked him since everything is on back order can I just order the chairs from you and cancel the table I will order that on line.
He then got very upset, starting raising his voice at me, telling me I CAN NOT cancel anything on my order as everything is final sales. When my husband told him to just cancel the order. "Chad" tells us very angrily "Fine, cancel the order coming to them. Leave the paper work to be financed they have 6 months to pay it and they can pay me 20% restocking fee also.
and you can just take it up with corporate." All this just because he could not answer a simple question as to why I should buy in the store instead of online. Lesson I would like to pass on to others: If you really like something in the store. Set on it feel it try it out, make sure you really love it.DO NOT buy it in the store.
Do you homework and look on there Website and save yourself a bundle.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
