We purchased an Ashley Durablend motion sofa four years ago. It was gorgeous, fit the need perfectly and seemed ideal for our needs.
The first issue was a split seam in the middle of the left seat back. The second issue was the break down of the left arm frame right where your elbow rests. Then, the peeling began. Anywhere your skin touched the "Durablend", it began peeling like a bad sunburn.
Every issue encountered was outside the Ashley warranty...of course. Knowing we were about to remodel the den, we decided to endure it until the new flooring was in and make a fresh start. Do not touch "Durablend"! The sofa was kept clean.
Neither of us are particularly "oily". The sofa was not misused nor mistreated in any way. We're both retired. There are no children nor large animals in the household.
When you pay over a thousand dollars for a sofa, you hope it lasts longer than four years. Not in this case.
