In November we were shopping for a kitchen table and the new Ashleys Furniture store had just opened here in Modesto. We saw that they were advertising their Black Friday sale to be on before black Friday.

As we were shopping for a table we notice this sofa loveseat set for $499. We didnt need sofas. The sofas we had for 7 years and have held up beautifully, but these blue set looked nice and the price seemed so great. We were concerned as to why they were so inexpensive.

The sales person told us that it was because it was a Black Friday deal and assured us that they were of good quality and would at other times be much more. Again we didnt need sofas but these blue sofas looked so nice and the price was great. We ended up purchasing a set and getting rid of our sofas of 7 years. When the sofas were delivered they did not look as rich or nice as the set in the showroom.

The love seat had a big snag and defect going through the fabric. It was then that i had a bad feeling about the purchase. We were told we could not return them that a technician would go out and repair it. The technician was not able to repair it or order the section fabric to replace it so the loveseat was replaced.

When we got the replacement loveseat it didnt have the snag running through the fabric but still didnt look as rich and as nice as what was on display. Once we started sitting on the sofas we realized we had a big and dangerous problem. We can sit for even a short amount of time without the cushions slipping out from under us. The trying to get up to push them back in while they are sticking out has made it very difficult to stand.

I have almost lost my balance trying to stand from sitting. Then sitting down when they have slipped some out has almost cased me to end up on the floor. Even when cushions are in place there is no support on back and our backside sinks in and down again making it hard and unsafe to stand from it. Feeling it with my hand i see and feel there is nothing supporting the cushion in that area.

Another problem with the sofas and fabric is that it is wearing horribly. Within just months the fabric looks worse than any sofas i have ever disposed of. My previous sofas we had for 7 years kept their shape and never broke down that way. On these new sofas there little fuzz balls all over rand wherever there is a crease or edge the fabric has faded.

I called and had a technician come look at them and the said that there was nothing to repair or fix on his part. I have gone in to talk to sales manager and she tells me that it is what they are for being lower end sofas. She says that they are $599 sofas and thats what we could expect. That is not what we were told when we purchased them .

The salesman told us that only reason they were such a great price was because it was a black Friday deal, but otherwise they would be much more. We have replaced our sofas every 7-10 years. Never had we had sofas that looked so run down in such a short time. Even worse never have we had sofas that it felt unsafe to sit or stand from.

The sales manager tells me i need to sew Velcro to the cushions. First of all if Velcro is what they needed they should have been finished that way.. Second i have a tear in ligament of my wrist of my right hand. I have a hard time doing anything that uses that motion of the wrist.

Third i use to sew years ago and even worked in a fabric store. It is not that easy to sew and align velcro to things and in the case of cushions it would need a thicker heavier duty Velcro and maybe in several places. Stil thast won't solve the sinking in problem towards back of the seats. I have asked the store to please take them back even if for an exchange of one better and safer sofa but they refuse and Geri the sales manager tells me its all my perception.

As far as the fabric showing so much wear and fuzziness she tells me to buy a razor and run it through the sofas. I have never in my life had to maintain sofas that way and again i have injury to my wrist that limits that motion.

I am at the point of contacting news channels' consumer help but i wanted to try last option and contact Ashleys corporate CEO. Please forward my email
