Verified Reviewer |Don’t stand behind their products & poor customer service
My 72-year-old mother purchased a 5-piece bedroom set with delivery, installation, and even their white glove service. Early into owning it, the support leg at the foot of the bed fell out, causing the end of the bed to be unsupported and the slats and mattress to fall through. After putting it back and thinking the issue was resolved, the support leg has fallen out numerous times. I decided that enough is enough, and we should call them so they can correct whatever the issue is.
When speaking with Shannon at the customer service line, she basically just kept saying we didn't purchase an extended warranty, so if we wanted it fixed, we'd have to pay $75 for them to come out and then whatever the cost of the broken piece was. I said this was unacceptable, based on the bed being less than 3 years old and that they installed it. I asked to speak to a manager, to which she responded that their response would be no different than hers. I asked again to speak to a manager. Shannon came back and said the manager said I would have to submit photos to the virtual service agent of the issue, and then they'd review it and get back to me in 48 hours. I agreed and sent pictures in right away, explaining that although the support leg wasn't broken, it doesn't stay in place. The next day, my mom received an email stating that the support leg met manufacturer's standards and that the ticket was closed, but call if there were any concerns or questions.
I called the support line again and spoke with Wendy. She also reiterated that there was no extended warranty purchased and that they were looking for photos. I advised I had already taken and sent photos, but the leg isn't broken; it just doesn't stay in place. I told her I understood about the warranty, but based on the age of the furniture and the fact they installed it, I was hoping they could do it as a courtesy. She said no, they couldn't, and that the manager had said that to the woman I spoke to yesterday. I then asked why I was asked to take photos if the answer was already no. I expressed that I believed Ashley Furniture has very poor customer service and doesn't stand behind their products and sells *** furniture if it falls apart that quickly. She then explained they don't manufacture it and that's what the warranty is for. I advised her that Ashley Furniture purchases the furniture from a manufacturer and sells it; therefore, not standing behind the product and making it untrustworthy when you walk into a store and purchase from them.
She then went on to say it's like when you buy a car and have to buy an extended warranty. I responded by saying years ago, warranties didn't really exist because the products used to be quality made and stood the test of time; then companies decided to make things with planned obsolescence and, furthermore, made customers purchase extended warranties to cover their *** craftsmanship.
Furthermore, my mom purchased a set, and if the bed broke, she'd still be stuck with the rest of the set. Wendy said that they actually don't do that and they would prorate the other pieces. I responded by saying prorating wouldn't allow her to repurchase the set of a similar cost, still leaving her empty-handed.
Eventually, I asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold. When Wendy came back to the line, she said that because the extended warranty wasn't purchased, they wouldn't be covering it. I advised that I actually had asked to speak to a manager and she then told me that she was a supervisor as well and spoke with another supervisor just to confirm.
This company was simply unwilling to waive a $75 fee to make the customer happy, especially when it was likely their fault that the leg doesn't stay in place. I would never purchase from Ashley Furniture again and would definitely not purchase their extended warranty. Seeing other reviews online, it looks like they find all the loopholes to not uphold the warranties, so either way, you're screwed.
- Nice sales people
- Dont uphold warranty
- Poor customer service support
- Not willing to work with customers
Preferred solution: Have them repair the leg
User's recommendation: Don’t buy from them and don’t purchase extended warranty

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. My husband and I had to purchase a Tempur-Pedic mattress to go with the tempur- pedic base .
Originally the wrong Sealy mattress was delivered.
Because it was a split king mattress they exchanged the 2 sealy mattresses for 1 Tempur Pedic and we had to purchase the second split king. For all customers who purchase adjustable beds I recommend you get the mattress that fits the base the regular pillow top mattress doesn’t fit a Tempur Pedic adjustable base
They delivered a soft mattress that was on clearance and it was not what we ordered in store.when it was supposed to be firm and the mattress does not sink with the adjustable base they will not take back the mattress and give us the mattress that we originally purchased from the store and we have been going through this for three days now since delivery My Husband just had back surgery and I had surgery on my foot and we were depending on that mattress to help with our recovery. The customer service in the Kennesaw Georgia Ashley furniture store is just horrible. You have horrible service and I just believe that you selling a mattress that does not adjust with the adjustable base. Its just wrong for the customer who does not have knowledge I will never shop in Ashley and I will definitely make sure the public is aware of the poor service that you have in the store just to get a Cell to pay almost $3000 for it.
Adjustable base and have no mattress that adjust is just horrible. I will definitely make sure that no one shops in your store and I will go to the news media about this because I just think that you dont care about your customer.
We have been customers and purchased furniture from the store several times and never had a problem, but it appears that no one can take care of anything. No one has the power.
User's recommendation: I will not recommend anyone shopping in the store ever and purchase anything

Verified Reviewer |Bad customer service received wrong product to Home
On April 15, a new mattress was delivered to my home after delivery. I realized that the mattress was not the mattress we purchased in the store, going to the store several minutes after the delivery.
I realized that a clearance mattress was sent to my home, not the mattress ordered. However, I was also sold a Tempur-Pedic adjustable base, and the mattress was a split king Sealy soft mattress. My husband has had four back surgeries, and I had a recent Achilles surgery, so we decided that we definitely needed an adjustable bed. The bed does not align with the adjustable base.
We have tried to resolve this issue, even to get the mattress that we originally paid for. They could not handle any issue in-store, and corporate is to be contacted. I'm writing this complaint because I don't recommend anyone use the store. It is poor salesmanship to sell a mattress that will not align with the adjustable base when it is not the same product.
The store manager was horrible. The staff was horrible, and of course, when you call the store, you get an answering machine; no one calls you back. They just pass it off to each other. It is sad now for a man 66 years old, who has had four back surgeries, to lay on a soft mattress that is not helping his back.
I believe we should be compensated for our loss. Return these mattresses and move on. We offered to purchase a Tempur-Pedic mattress to go along with the adjustable base, but so far we haven't had any results. No one in the store seems to know how to help; no one in the store knows how to reach your corporate offices to make a decision.
It was suggested when we called Ashley regarding this that they wanted us to sleep on the mattress for 30 days, and that's not going to happen.
Please help us come to a resolution with this issue. Thank you.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: In the future, I recommend that you sell your adjustable bases to fit the mattress if it is not a Tempur-pedic bed a Tempur-pedic high in adjustable base should not be sold and it should not be difficult now we have to sleep on a mattress My Husband having a bad back and myself recovering from surgery on a mattress until this issue is resolved I will attach a video and photo so you can see how the mattress and adjustable base align they do not at this point I want to return the mattress and adjustable base. I will never come to Ashley again. I loved your furniture. I also purchased a canopy bed on that day. That was fine, but I can’t enjoy the beautiful canopy bed when I can’t enjoy the mattress.

We perused the inventory at the Cleveland, TN location for a living room suite. We told them we love the leather outfits, but we have cats.
They excitedly told us they have a revolutionary copyrighted product that is cat-proof and displayed with an ice pick that cannot be destroyed by rips, tears, or punctures. Then, they proceeded to tell us that it actually hurts cats' nails, so they don't want to do it. They also forced us to buy the insurance even though we said we didn't want it. It wasn't an option.
We came back from vacation many months later to find the corners of our furniture torn and punctured by the cats. We began the claims process (which took many months) and were told it was a product defect and had to be reported in 72 hours. (Evidently, they have cats in the warehouse or on the sales floor). Then we escalated to Ashley escalations and explained and sent pictures, and we were just told it doesn't cover pets.
Their cat-proof copyrighted product doesn't cover pets. Okay, she is a feral wild animal.
Total fraudulent misrepresentation. Class action lawsuit here.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
On the 3rd of March, I called them and sent a picture of the bed, and they called three days later, to which I asked to return the bed as it would take more than 12 weeks to resolve it.
They have since insisted that they will see if this is possible, and lastly, they called me to update me that I would receive the missing piece by the end of April and that I should call them again when it arrived. I explained to them again and again that was not the resolution I wanted, that I wanted a return or a new unit altogether, but they have not listened to my concerns, neither are they giving me the help I require.

Verified Reviewer |Broken part received
Received a broken part. After almost 3 weeks, multiple emails, and phone calls, we finally received a new part that isn't even for our furniture!
They sent us a part that is not even related to what we bought. I even sent pictures and circled the part number along with the picture of the broken part in the manual. Now they say we have to wait another several weeks to get the right part.
No complaint process, no way to escalate. Absolutely horrible.
- Lack of notation
- To many channels to go through communication gets disrupted and makes the process longer
- No escalation process
Preferred solution: New part believed in a timely manner instead of going through another multi week process
User's recommendation: Avoid at all costs

Verified Reviewer |The worst Customer Service ever! Don't buy anything from them!!!
I ordered a comforter set with two pillows, that came separately. The policy says I can return within 72 hrs, but the pillows arrived 2 days after the comforter set.
I have spent at least 2 -2.5hrs on several calls, and have been told, someone will get back to me in 3-5 business days. It is past that.
In the mean time, I am wanted to return the purchase of $360, that I cannot. It is a lot of money. Cannot reach a supervisor.
Since I purchased online, I cannot take it to the store. Tried calling the store for 3 days, left message, but no one \gets back to me. The same items are being sold elsewhere for $100 less.
Never buy from them!!! I know I wont.
It has been a night mare!
They don't care a damn about their customers or serving them.
None of the merchandise has been opened or used.
Save yourself stress and money, go elsewhere. Ashley Furniture is not worth it!!!

Statements for Consumer Complaints Websites
On May 24, 2022, I entered in to a Sales Contract with DSG dba AHS to purchase furniture. Before DSG dba AHS would enter into a Sales Contract, they ensured that I paid upfront.
I was forced to trust they were honorable. My Order # is 028867****.
Eventually, delivery was scheduled July 2022. During the delivery I was given an opportunity to inspect the furniture and noted damage on all items and requested to refuse the furniture. The Delivery Crew refused my right to refuse delivery due to their damaged furniture.
The delivery stated they are not allowed to take it back and I need to call the store to resolve. The delivery crew stated they will make notes and inform AHS.
I made many calls to the store, store visits, sent pics and told them I want to reject the furniture, but they ignored my legal request and stated they will only repair the broken furniture they sent me. I did not pay for new furniture for them to send me broken furniture, so they can fix the Manufacturers reject.
Because I rejected their scam to repair something I didnt order, DSG dba AHS ghosted me and has been ignoring me for years. They refuse to refund my purchase after they Breached our Contract with their Bait and Switch Scam, using Fraudulent Business Practices.
I went to the store on 5/25/24 and gave them a letter demanding a full refund.
After I went outside and talked with a few of their customers, they called the police and had me escorted off the property because they stated I was trespassing. The police stated this was not the first time they were called for by Ashley to remove unhappy customers from their property.
I am out $1,788.25 and left with furniture DSG dba AHS delivered broken. I feel like a mouse being cornered by a bobcat and doomed to suffer by their Fraudulent Business Tactics. Im not the only customer victimized by DSG.
There are thousands. You can start reading about other consumers who fell victims of their scam. Research DSG and their AHS on sites like the Better Business Bureau, YELP, Google, Glassdoor and Facebook like Ashley Furniture HomeStore Complaints (not run by Ashley, but by customers) and Facebook AF Home Store Complaints Issues Advocacy and Resources LLC.
I am asking for assistance and a Full Investigation of their Fraudulent Business Practices. Maybe a cross agency investigation to audit their sales, accounting practices, talk to their employees and reach out to the consumers who are Victims.
I am wanting DSG dba AHS to pick up their furniture and fully refund me $1,788.25.
Refund of $1,788.75 for table and chairs and the bedroom nightstand. I had originally ordered a chest to match the nightstand, but refused this when delivered. The deliverymen asked me to come out and look at it before they unloaded it because they didn't think I would want it. It was obvious that it was a repaired piece of furniture.
After refusing this, they did refund my money on this because, they had not brought it into my home. Now I have a nightstand that does not match anything and they still refuse to refund my money on this piece. After close inspection, this nightstand also has issues.
_____
I am asking for a full refund of $1,788.75 for the broken and repaired furniture they delivered to my home. After delivering the furniture, and after closer inspection of the furniture after the deliverymen left, I found all kinds of issues such as broken mechanism under the table, cracked slats in the chairs, pieces of wood came off of the chair, the finish on the table top started coming off after about a month, and I have a nightstand that I bought to match a chest they delivered later, and they told me to come look at the chest before they unloaded it because they didn't think I would want it.
It was obviously repaired. Since I already had the nightstand in my house, they will not even refund the money and take the furniture back "because it crossed my threshold", it all had issues.
I was told my them since it crossed my threshold, it was mine and they would only replace this furniture with more broken and repaired furniture. Their mantra is: We do NOT refund.

Verified Reviewer |Sold low quality furniture for high prices then didn't honor their warranties
On February 10, 2024, I bought two (2) Power Sofas with Adjustable Headrests (Item: 593****) at the Ashley Homestore in Pasadena, Texas. I paid $3,224.21 in total for both sofas plus delivery charge, protection plan, and tax on my credit card.
Ashley's delivered the sofas to my home on 2/15/2024. Unfortunately, the leather material of these sofas has failed. After only 6 months (August 2024), I noticed the leather peeling. I called your store and the extended warranty company on August 10, 2024, and after 2-1/2 weeks, I received an email stating that the couch was still under the manufacturer's warranty and my claim was closed.
On August 23, 2024, I called Ashley's customer service and through an online chat, they offered me a $167 Ashley's gift card. I declined that offer and they then offered to repair the sofa. I accepted that offer. Before any repair appointment was set up, I was notified by email on August 24, 2024, that I had no warrantable concerns present and my claim was closed, noting that the failure is due to the manufacture of fake leather.
I made one more call to Ashley's on August 25, 2024, and was told that normal wear and tear is not covered. This is not normal wear and tear! You offer a one-year warranty on all manufacturing issues. The material is supposed to last for years, not months!
When I questioned that answer, you had me send more photos, but then ghosted me. I expect Ashley to pick up their defective furniture from my house and refund my money fully!

Two weeks ago I was supposed to get a piece that consists of a loveseat and a chaise. One piece dont work without the other.
Well the loveseat arrived completely damaged. The delivery guy reported the issue to Ashley the same day. He was told to take the loveseat back and to leave the chaise because we were going to get the new loveseat in 24 to 48 hours. Well at the end I took a day of from work because I was told by 3 different customer service representatives that the delivery was going to be happening that day between 2 and 6, Tuesday 12/03/24 .
Well nothing arrived. I called them again and this time I was told that the loveseat was out of stock and that it could be delivered at the end of December! Thats a no no for us because the idea was to get everything before Christmas. Well I got a refund for the loveseat and ottoman; however they are refusing to come for the chaise they left here.
They say that its not damaged so it goes against their return policies. I reminded them that items damaged or defective can be returned. This item is defective because its not a finished piece. We can clearly see the wood structure.
It does not have two arm rest. It is incomplete!
Well its been two and a half weeks and nothing. Its been horrible to deal with them and honestly I dont know how this is going to end but what its certain is that Ashley has horrible customer services.

I bought a king-size firm mattress, two pillows, and a cover for the mattress. When I bought the mattress, they did not have the third mattress.
They gave me the one from the showroom, which I said OK to, and I asked very specifically if it's not comfortable and I can't sleep at night, would I be able to exchange it for a medium firm? She said yes. And so far, from the day I bought it until now, I cannot sleep. I'm looking to exchange it for a medium firm because it's very difficult for me, my wife, and my daughter to sleep at night.
We cannot sleep since we bought the mattress. The store is located in Santiago, Dominican Republic. They said they will come Monday. They did not come.
They said they would call back. They don’t call, so I'm about to call the credit card company to make it clear, but I'd like to contact you guys first. If you can exchange it, that would be great. Please email me.
I would like to resolve the issue as soon as possible. As of right now, I'm going to be here until Wednesday, but my wife will be here.
She lives here the whole time and lives in the United States. I buy a lot of furniture from Ashley, but I would like better customer service.
