Ashley Furniture - Spray Paint Fix
Never buy furniture from Ashley.
I had purchased a $1400 dining room set of table and chairs, and upon delivery, it looked fine; until I tried to polish it with a standard Old English furniture polish right after the delivery people left. To my amazement, I looked at the paper towel and there was black ink all over it.
The delivery people deliberately concealed their cheap attempt to fix the damage to the underside of the table, and because I had already signed the delivery receipt, my only recourse was to have a furniture technician dispatched.
The repairman actually arrived the following week with an assortment of colored filler pens, and a can of spray paint to affect the repairs. He advised me not to touch the "repaired" area because it would leave fingerprints. There was no repair, no swap available, and I was left with a new $1400 table and a spray paint job. The gouges are still there, only now they are colored gouges.
At least Haverty's has the decency to swap damaged furniture at your request. This was the last dining room table that I could buy for my retirement. Now I am stuck with a spray painted dining room table for the rest of my life. Way to go Ashley!
